Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather, please be sure that the office is aware of your family's plan for dismissing your child early. (Would you like them to walk home? Will they go to Kids' Time, the Youth Center, or ride a bus? Would you like them to wait at school to be picked up by a family member or friend?) Bellevue typically doesn't do late starts or early dismissals for inclement weather (either we're there all day or we're not), but there's always a first for everything, so we like to be prepared just in case!
Also, please remember to watch the weather forecast on a regular basis and make sure your child comes to school dressed for the weather. We make every attempt to get the students outside for recess unless it is raining, snowing, or the temperature is below 20 degrees. If you've lived in Nebraska long enough, you know that we can experience some pretty crazy temperature changes from day to day, and some cold, blustery winds in winter. It's a good idea to keep a hat, gloves, and scarf tucked in your child's backpack during cold spells... you know, anywhere from October to early May!!! : )
